I've been watching The Borgias for a few weeks now and am finding it entertaining. I knew virtually nothing about the time period 1480-1510 until just a few months ago. After playing Assassin's Creed II and hearing about this show, I have been reading a bit about it... a fascinating time.
[SPOILER:074848f116]After the first episode where Jeremy Irons forces himself into the position of Pope, he really didn't appear to be as bad as history has portrayed Rodrigo Borgia. However, more and more the sacrifices he demands of others for his own benefit are huge. Most specifically asking his sons to kill a good man who is a foreign guest to collect a reward that shall be used as dowry to marry his innocent daughter to a horrible lord for a political alliance and army. He really is becoming a monster.[/SPOILER:074848f116]
The actors, with the sole exception of David Oakes (Juan Borgia) have been outstanding in their rolls and the show is fun to watch.
