It's not bad as far as network Sci-fi shows go; my wife loves it if that means anything to you. In my opinion, the stories and fantastical elements are more believable and not as cheesy as X-Files was.

I'd go back and watch it from the beginning if you're going to because there are some overarching story threads. Bottom line is the show is worth checking out.
