Anyone remember this show? It's been in syndication for many years. I currently watch it on Space, Canada's equivalent to what used to be the Sci-Fi Channel.
For those uninitiated, here's the gist: In 1985, five years after Alfred Hitchcock's death, someone got the idea to remake his TV show from the '50s and '60s and colorize the segments that began and ended each episode. Most episodes involve at least one murder and the perpetrator(s) either getting away with it or their comeuppance, and never without at least one twist. The show's dated, but that doesn't detract from the entertainment value. In fact, I think that adds to it.
I must admit that I never saw the first season until I started watching it on Space.
Some big-name directors, like Tim Burton and Atom Egoyan, directed some of the episodes.
Some of my favorite episodes include Man On The Edge, starring Mark Hamill and Michael Ironside, and The Final Twist, one of the episodes Egoyan directed.
Some of the episodes dealt with the supernatural. One episode from Season 1 dealt with aliens. Towards the end of the series, there was a Cyberpunk love story, a James Bond parody and a Sherlock Holmes tale, one after the other. It all came to an end with the brilliant self-parody, South By Southeast.
I now close this post by referring you to my beginning question.
