Why does everyone use a poll in their introductory post?

I say Spaceballs. That movie is fucking classic, plus I know every line, and John Candy is the shit.

I'm risking major pariah status here, but I was not entertained by Space Balls, not one bit. I only ever watched it once though.

Hardware Wars was actually pretty good too, but John Candy still wins.

None, they all suck. Star Wars just doesn't seem to lend itself to parody. Family Guy was the worst, but Family Guy is the worst of a lot of things. At least they're consistent.
Spaceballs is the best of the options, and is a great movie in itself, but that's because Brooks wisely didn't just parody every single stupid scene from Star Wars with random crap thrown in the mix. He actually wrote a PLOT, shockingly enough, and the film was its own story.
I'll put it this way: you can watch Spaceballs without having ever seen Star Wars and it's still funny. Can you say that about the others?

I do like Space Balls, and would choose it over Family Guy's version...but I HAVE to go with Robot Chicken, for their take on Boba Fett alone. "Yeah...at least I didn't go out like a punk...*sob*"

I agree with this...but I have to say, it would've been nice if Brooks did even more as far as establishing Star Trek, Alien, Planet of the Apes and so forth. Yeah, we get minor instances, but spoofing the space genre in general could've made it even better in my opinion.

Here's the tie-breaker then. Hawk's post goes for me too; I choose Robot Chicken. The Emperor taking a call from Vader and making fun of him made it for me.

Yeah, Spaceballs pretty much has the whole "Star Wars parody" thing down pat.

That video is fuckin awesome.
Anyway, I'd have to say Spaceballs all the way. The Family Guy one had it's moments. Never saw the Robot Chicken one though.
