Well, considering that Thrash influenced Death and Thrash sounds better, I'd say Thrash.

I chose Thrash, but I prefer Technical-Prog-Doom Metal.

I've never been a tremendous fan of either--I like Epic Metal, or...whatever you would classify Iron Maiden as. Still, I'll take Thrash over Death any day, so that's where my vote goes.

I'm generally a classic metal guy......Sabbath, Priest and Maiden get the most play time. But thrash and power metal are both up there.

I've never fully understood the definition of death metal, and what separates it from thrash. Doom metal, from what I understand, is a slower, more meloncholy version of death metal.

I think when you have to put metal in more than 3 or 4 sub-genre's it starts getting fucking retarded. I like metal, but I don't think I enjoy any band who would actually say "We call ourselves epic/death/thrash metal" because they honestly all sound so gay.

It's like the metal guy who makes fun of the hipster who listens to sub-genre after sub-genre and then classifies the music he listens to in 5 word phrase. "Yeah, we're more of a melodic, doom, celtic, thrash and epic ballad metal band". No, you're dumb, go die.

You have a point, but sometimes you need a subgenre. I mean, you need something to describe death metal's distinct vocals and ultra heavy distortion, but I agree it can get out of hand when a band starts calling itself Christian Blackened Death/Thrash Metal.

I'm more about lyrics, so I'm going to have to go with Thrash.

Also, who the fuck still is listening to Blackend Christian Metal? it's all about Salsa & Disco Death Metal. get with the times!

Even though it's been over a year I'm still baffled that Thrash Funk is a real genre. Confused

Interestingly enough, this is the moniker that was given to Anthrax, Metallica, Mercyful Fate and Exciter.

I'm a thrasher at heart, but I listen to Carcass, Morbid Angel and Death more than any other metal artist nowadays.

and seconded on sub sub geners. Those bands can suck the shit from my ass. There are only four types of genres: Heavy (traditional), thrash, black, and death. Power metal has always been a continuation of "heavy" in my book.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.
