Any fans of techno here? And I do not mean 'Sandstorm'. I mean the likes of Martin Buttrich, Loco Dice, Dubfire, Marcel Dettmann, etc. etc.
Also, first post too
Been a fan of Syd for a few years and have loved every article of his; the combination of dry wit and literate commentary is unprecedented. Hats off Syd and company!

i enjoy some techno, though not necessarily a ton of it. rabbit in the moon, chemical brothers, tricky, dj shadow, the crystal method, FSOL and propellerheads are some of the techno bands I enjoy, plus the spawn movie soundtrack, which is a fusion classic along the lines of the judgement night one in terms of bringing different groups together and making good music.
i prefer more industrial than pure techno, though.
Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

i would call daft punk techno, for sure. also forgot to mention new order. everything's gone green is probably my favorite by them, followed by bizzare love triangle

Daft Punk is not techno. THIS is what I mean when I say techno...
Also I love Daft Punk too. Have all their albums, live albums, and unreleased stuff. Daft Punk is House.

daft punk is house, I like house more than electronica. My fav house band is Justice, DVNO (song) kicks ass. Phantom pt.II is good too. Electronica wise I like more foreign groups. Benny Bennassi has some good non house tracks like finger food. I can't stand it when artists try and recirculate a beat for the whole damn song, there needs to be some diversity. Too many techno songs get away with the generic bass boom under the guise 'It's for Dancing!'.

I used to listen to techno much like the ones you guys posted earlier, but I'm more into hard trance and house now adays. I just happened to upload a playlist onto utube last week if anyone else is into that style:
This is also my first post, I usually check the main site to see if Syd reviewed an old video game or expired food, glad to catch up on the old cereal saga.
Anyway if anyone else is into hard trance/house I'm all ears for new tunes. Think I found my new regular forum.

I like the original techno of the 90s, but mostly lean towards the more industrial side of it.

I never listened to a lot of Techno, humorously enough DDR, probably re-sparked interest in that music for me.
Knyte, for the SWF am i supposed to keep just pumping out promos for fight, until the results are in?

'Get away' with it? I used to feel this way until I really started listening to good techno, ell-produced, deep techno. It gets away with nothing. The ability it takes to produce this stuff is hard to find and it's real talent. Sure, there are multiple elements that loop, but when the elements start to build, something greater comes from all those pieces: a complete, whole mood, a feeling, a groove.
Rock music has loops: riffs. It's just different. Techno isn't bad. Just different. I like it a lot more than rock music for my own reasons.

I fuckin' love you new guys for A. being into electronic music and B. knowing what the fuck you're talking about.
Daft Punk happens to have been my favorite artists since right around my 6th grade year...Fun fact: The first time I had sex I was listening to my favorite song, Digital Love. It also happened to be with a very hot Asian girl, who happens to be my girlfriend of three years. Anyone who really knows me knows I love Daft Punk and Asian girls, so that was pretty much a dream come true. BOOYAH!
...Anyway, for electronic music I'm into all of it, give me anything to listen to and I'll give it a chance. I'm way into Dubstep now since late last year, I've always been into House, and Trance...well, that's probably what I've listened to most over the years and I like all of the sub-genres of Trance. Drum N' Bass is nasty shit, I'll always love good ol' DnB. If you're into it, check out Pendulum's live set from Radio One's New Years Eve in Leads from 2008, it's my fave set ever. Oh yeah, almost forgot, DJ Hazard - Machete is just sick.
Oh, right, Techno. Techno has its place, it hasn't always been my favorite, but I also listen to it from time to time. Gotta love when you say Techno it's automatically "Daft Punk" or "oh, you mean SANDSTORM!?" Hehe, but you know, Sandstorm is actually a pretty good song, it's just overplayed as Hell.
Well, before I write too much shit I'll stop myself and welcome both Admz and StonedAutopilot to the community. Welcome!
P.S. Admz (and anyone else), try out Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space, Alphazone - Strange, and I've always liked Alex M vs Marc van Damme - Technodisco...I think it's one most people can get into. Okay, I'll shut up now, if you guys want some more suggestions shoot me a PM! Later

Dubstep? YES. Techno and tech house will always be my favorite, but I like dubstep a lot too. Apple Pips, Berkane Sol, Tempa, Hessle Audio, Hemlock, just a few of my favorite labels.
