While I'm on a tear about things, has anybody actually seen this show? It's basically about a bunch of trust-fund/Mom and Dad's money/trophy wife types being cut off from their income, forced to live in a nice suburban home and fend for themselves to teach them about being fiscally responsible. My wife likes to watch dumb shit like this all the time, and her cyclical vomiting started up again recently so I've been treating her extra good by doing things she likes.
If you've seen it, were your fists balled up in an unceasing rage the entire time the show was running too? These women were going out and spending more income than I earn and support two people with in a month, and the way that they prattled on about money and people being poor and how cooking and cleaning and working were beneath them... I can't even comprehend these people. I know, in the back of my mind, that people like this exist, but honestly, I wanted to rip their Botox smoothed faces off with my fingernails. Maybe I'm just being a bit of a heavy dude, here, but what's your thoughts on the matter?

Well just remember that this is the exact reaction the show is designed to provoke out of you, so it may be worth stepping back and taking a breath. Its about earning ratings and money for the station, so I'm sure its somewhat exaggerated.
That said, yes, people who believe that *anything* is beneath them piss me off to no end. Pet peeve of mine.

If they have the money, why shouldn't they spend it? Would you rather them sit on it? They're obviously not going to give it away, so if they're stupid enough to spend it on useless crap that they don't really need, let them. It's not hurting me and since I'm neither financially set for life or in a financial hole, I'm happy. Having a shitload of money does nothing except make you feel hollow and surround yourself with hollow people.

I'm not pissed that they spend it, don't get me wrong. What pisses me off is these bitches never lifted a finger to actually earn any of it, except possibly spreading eagle, and that doesn't take much effort. And yeah, I'm sure it was designed to piss me off, so good for the producers. I'm still just kind of flabbergasted because I fucking bust ass and take care of a sick wife while these shits won't do anything. One of them wouldn't even breastfeed her daughter because she didn't want to wake up during the night.

Even that doesn't piss me off. These people exist, so if they are to exist, I'm glad they're already married to some idiot who willingly lets them do whatever they want.
If anything pisses me off, it's how they pawn this shit off as entertainment, or anything reality in that sense. I've never liked it, and it only promotes this self loathing behavior.
So is anyone gets my wrath, it's the goddamn producers. I hope they die of AIDScancer.

Thank you Dodd, for expressing exactly what I was trying to, except more prettier.

These shows are supposed to make you look at yourself and say, "my life may be shitty, but at least I'm not like that." It's not celebrating these women and their awesome lifestyles. It's poking fun at them and saying, "sure they have money and can spend it so frivilously, but look how shallow and vapid they are, and how badly they cope in the real world with real people."
As a viewer, you're supposed to come away feeling better about yourself. Anyone who watches it and says to themselves, "man, I wish I was like that. I'm so jealous of them" or has a self-loathing reaction is a flawed person and is doing it wrong.
This is entertainment to some people and is no worse than any other form of entertainment such as watching two dim muscleheads perform a choreographed dance in a wrestling ring, or watching brightly colored cars go around in circles for hours on end.

I haven't seen this show, but I suspect people watch it for the same reason they watch Jersey Shore. You don't envy that lifestyle.......you just enjoy the train-wreck of human stupidity that it provides.
