So this aired last night and...I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was funny, but I don't feel it was up to their normal standards. I liked the whole fake out about them moving to a new house and how after it was destroyed, they waited around for hours for it to magically reform. I'm hoping the new theme song is also a fake out because it's TERRIBLE. The show's about the Aqua Teens, not Schoolly D's comeback. Also, I'm pretty sure the dialog clips during Meatwad's memories of the Danger Kart were not at all the actual clips from the episodes but the same lines rerecorded.

I despised the theme song but I did enjoy the premiere tremendously.

Yeah, I had no idea this show was still on the air. It's a great show, don't get me wrong, but 9 seasons? Geez, I had no idea.

Did the "plot" of the show change in mid-season? They started off as detectives and now....I don't even know. Just pure randomness. Still a decent show.

Because a show with a talking meatball needs a coherent plot?

Dude, they were detectives for like one episode. And the only reason they had that plot element at all was because the network didn't want a show about nothing.

I watched this show until about Season 3...then it got too stupid for even me.
Don't get me wrong, it had potential...but it was just not my cup of tea. In my eyes, if they couldn't find a way to fill 15 minutes, then it wasn't worth it to watch since the situations were too stupid and the characters became stupider every time.

I haven't been keeping up with it on TV as I just wait for the DVDs (which I have all of, including the movie). Hopefully, the show isn't going to get stale.
And they stopped being detectives a long time ago. In "Kidney Car", Frylock says they were only doing that for extra money. So it's just all randomness, I suppose.

So, we go into NBC, we tell them we've got an idea for a show about nothing.

They even made a point in later seasons that being a detective "didn't quite make a lot of money".
I saw some of this and from what I saw it was pretty funny.

I just don't want to listen to that theme song on every episode from now on; it has nothing to do with the show other than mentioning the characters like once, doesn't match up to the opening animation at all and is disharmonious.

I watched it yesterday, and it was pretty funny. Thank God I don't watch TV shows for the theme songs, though. That said, the theme was tolerable, just not as good as the original.

That them seems like the kind of thing ATHF would joke about. They'll probably do half of that theme next episode, then Schooly D will explode or meet some other horrible end, and the real new theme will start.

It was season 7, not season 9...
My favorites for this season were Rubberman and Multiple Meat.
I love this show and shame on you guys for letting it fall to page two.

Not entirely correct. The Volume 1 DVD contained two seasons.
Season 1 was five episodes: Rabbot through Balloonstein.
Season 2 was 13 episodes, which was the standard for Williams Street shows at the time. It was Space Conflict From Beyond Pluto through Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past From The Future.
This is why the DVD was released as "Volume 1", not "Season 1". Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis later retconned these into one season because having a five episode season is lame. Even the production codes have apparently been retconned, but Space Conflict's original production code was S02E01. It is now 106.
So technically it should be Season 8.

I'm not sure of the history of relabeling the ATHF seasons, you could be right.
As of right now, however, it stands that Seasons 1 and 2 span across the first 3 DVD volumes due to the uneven season schedule of 18 (6+12) episodes for season 1 and 24 episodes of season 2.
Volume 6 is season 5 plus 4 episodes of season 6.
Anyway whether it should or should not be season 8 is neither here nor there because as it stands, it is considered to be season 7 with production codes 700-711.
It also looks like the volume 7 DVD will contain episodes 605-708.
It would be nice if they would just include 3 more episodes so that the DVD volumes and seasons actually start matching up.

It would also be nice if they picked a season size. They've gone from as many as 24 to as few as 9!
