Fuck all your other band reunions over the last several years, my prayers have finally been answered.

After years of speculation, Chris Cornell and the rest of the founding members of Soundgarden patched things up and decided to reunite. Some of the old Soundgarden is just so badass. As a huge Soundgarden and Chris Cornell fan in general, this is very exciting for me and very big news. I hope they put out a new album and go on multiple lengthy tours so I can see them.

Any fans out there?

Yes, let's just hope this isn't as lame as all the other reunions that have happened in the past decade or so. If they come in just trying to sound like "Teen Angst Soundgarden" of old, it will be very lame. If they prove they have evolved as people and musicians and give us fans something to be stoked about I will be very happy.

Yeah it made my day when i heard about the reunion. Hopefully Camerons drumming will be up to scratch since he really has tamed it down for his work in Pearl Jam till it actually just became boring.

This should be really awesome, I love Soundgarden. As for them maturing, I could see evolving as musicians, but I certainly don't want to hear Soundgarden all grown up. I mean, take the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Watch an interview of them from back when Hillel was in the band, or just listen to Freaky Styley or even Mother's Milk. Now pop in Stadium Arcadium. That's what happens when the kind of band that absolutely rides on its youth grows up. I mean, I hope they aren't big fakers about it, but I definitely want them to still be singing about being headed for the bottom, and how they're going to break their rusty cage, and that sort of stuff, it just went hand in hand with the music.

I'm fuckin stoked...at least this isn't going to be Europe only like Faith No More...god that pissed me off.

And I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels that Mother's Milk was RHCP at their best.

I really thought they peaked with Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik. Such a great album.

Dude the chances of getting tickets to see FNM in Europe was like 1million to one. Besides last i heard they were organizing dates around the US.

Yes i would hope for a world tour and if we are lucky a new album. Can't wait.

I agree. My favorite record of theirs is either Freaky Styley or Blood Sugar, and then The Uplift Mofo Party Plan was absolutely grand, too. I really liked their stuff with Hillel a lot, he was incredible. Frusciante took the band in a different direction, and I'm not a fan of where that direction ended them up, but at the start of the change (Blood Sugar) they hit a really sweet spot.

On topic, it is a shame that Cornell's not near a good a singer as he used to be. I loved his old voice.

I heard rumors but they seemed to be dismissed. Seriously though, I would die a happy man if I was able to see them in concert.

I'm excited because I always felt the whole was more than the sum of the parts. Soundgarden is awesome, Rage Against the Machine is awesome, but when you took parts of one and combined them into another, you got Audioslave... and shit.

I'm with an above poster, if Soundgarden has collectively grown as musicians, I'm all for it, but if they're still Teen Angsty, count me out.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

I never found Audioslave to be that bad. They weren't super amazing and incredible, but they were decent. I think one big problem was the first single they ever released, Cochise, was pretty shitty and turned a lot of people away. Including myself for a while.

RATM sucked. Tom Morello is a pretty sick guitarist, but Zack de la Rocha sucks, and so did their junior high school politics.

I liked Audioslave. Maybe not quite as much as Soundgarden, but they were good. Never liked the other mash-up band from that era, Velevet Revolver. I wanted to like VR so bad, but everything they did was fucking boring. Snakepit was way better.

Tom's very good, and I really liked their bass player, too. I really enjoyed their debut album, I just found I usually ignored the vocals altogether.

I have a live DVD, that angry ragey voice on the album doesn't seem to carry over very well live, seemed more squeaky.

I can't stand RATM. I have heard Morello play well, but everything he ever played with Rage was scratchy and gimmicky. Plus Syd's point is dead on, the bands attempt at being political was misguided and fucking stupid. We get it, you like communism, now go away. Audioslave was pretty good, but I think I liked Soundgarden better.

I lost all my respect for Cornell when he released that horrible album that Timbaland produced called, "Scream". Listening to it makes me want to do exactly that.

Chris Cornell's solo shit sucked. I mean, I try to give everyone the benefit of a doubt, but his shit sucked majorly. OMG, it sucked. If soundgarden starts up again, then cool. But as I always say, in regard to words, song, whatever: Success is thy proof.
