It seems to be a big thing on tv(Rockstar:Supernova, Supergroup) and I actually have plans for after my band gets famous enough and I can justify a solo project, I would get all my favorite musicians together, and we would jam on my favorite songs, but I was wondering whom everyone would want in their dream Supergroup?I would want:
Vocals:Lizzy Borden(Lizzy Borden)
Lead Guitar:Eddie Van Halen(Van Halen)
Lead Guitar:Slash(Guns N Roses, Snakepit, Velvet Revolver)
Rhythm Guitar:me(I wouldn't play lead if Slash and Ed were in the band!)
Bass:Steve Harris(Iron Maiden)
Drums:Scott Travis(Judas Priest)
For those of you who don't know, Lizzy Borden is an extremely underrated 80's metal band that never got the recognition they deserved, and their singer has the best falsetto scream I've ever heard, and Scott Travis is Priest's current drummer, a freakin' maniac.

So yeah, this is my dream band, and we sure as hell wouldn't have Gilby Clarke on lead, or a gay name like (Rockstar) Supernova....who would everyone else want?

Mine would be:

Lead vocals: Axl Rose (from Guns N' Roses)
Lead Guitar: Slash (from Velvet Revolver)
Rhythym Guitar: Izzy Stradlin (from Izzy and the Ju Ju Hounds)
Bass: Duff McKagan (from Velvet Revolver)
Drums: Matt Sorum (from The Cult)

And Gilby Clarke is a good guitarist. He's no EVH, but his solo stuff is cool.

heheh, nice

and, I should have rephrased that. Gilby is a good guitarist, and a cool guy, i just think Tommy lee and Jason Newsted could have gotten someone better for Supernova. If you've heard any of their stuff, his guitar work is just bar chords, nothing really fancy, not even any solos.

One more question: why Sorum and not Adler??

Appetite For Destruction 4 life yo!

I'm sorry, I'll never do the 4 life thing again(hangs head in shame)

Have you seen Adler lately? He's a mess.

If I had to make a real supergroup, it would probably be:

Vocals: Ronnie James Dio (Dio)
Drums: Neil Peart (Rush)
Bass: Nikki Sixx (Bass)
Lead Guitar: Al Pitrelli (Savatage)
Rhythym Guitar: Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
Keyboards: Jonathan Cain (Journey)

Yeah, it's a shame bout Stevo, but he's still playing. And that Supergroup's pretty wicked...Dio rules, but did you know he's only 5'1??In all the old pics with Sabbath, he stood on a ledge

And I forgot keyboard player: Ray Manzarek from the Doors

Yeah, I've seen Dio live, so I know he's short. It's also fairly apparent in his solo videos. Danzig is pretty short too. Sadly, Danzig has also gotten kinda fat recently.

Eric Adams. I almost picked him over Dio as my singer.

Surprised Scary... I agree 99%... but with Valdronius as backup bassist - because you never know what sort of sock-on-penis incident could arise! Surprised

Three of the greatest songwriters in one band.

I honestly can't believe you'd put Slash on lead and Malmsteen on rhythm guitar. Malmsteen would rape Slash in a guitar duel. Granted this is my opinion, but I've never heard Slash riff anywhere near as well as some of the, as I see them, Guitar Masters. People like Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Steve Howe, Steve Hackett (so many Steves). I love GnR and Slash has some realy nice solos, my favorite being the one from the end of November Rain. Harmonic minors always seem to get me right about there =-=points to a target on his shoulder=-=.
That's just my view on that. Anyway, if I had to put a supergroup together, it would probably be:

Vocal 1: Annie Haslam (Renaissance)
Vocal 2: Peter Gabriel (Genesis, himself)
(Very rarely would they be singing at the same time)
Guitar 1: John Petrucci (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment)
Guitar 2: Steve Hackett (Genesis, himself)
(Switch off soloingand rhythm depending on the type of song)
Bass: Chris Squire (Yes, UK)
Keyboard 1: Keith Emerson (ELP, The Nice)
Keyboard 2: Tony Banks (Genesis)

Note that not everyone would be doing something all the time. It would be a matter of instrumentation accoring to the needs of the music.

Also, I realize that there are a few Genesis members in there. Hey, I love early Genesis.... but not TOO early. When they first started, they wrote such typical music for the time it was hard to believe. I heard some of the songs on one of their big music collections... it was terrible.

RIP Hacker.

Hey Rycona, on your Steve comment....

Steve Harris just happens to be the greatest bassist on the planet, so I'm changing my name to Steve
