anyone care for it? anyone listen to it?

i personally enjoy it, but most of the new crap that passes for R&B is just that, crap. give me some old school Luther Vandross, some R. Kelly, even some Tony Toni Tone (i forget the order of the names) and im set for hours. obviously, we also have the greats: Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Teddy Pendergrass et. al.

and heres an old article about the state of R&B that i enjoyed reading.

Dr. Dre's the Chronic is not in any way shape or form considered R&B. Now the music he sampled off of vinyl so him and his cronies could bark and talk about big nipples over top of the once good music that was so chopped up it was hardly recognizable....yeah that stuff was R&B at one time or another.

I always wanted to form an R&B group that has really catchy laid back songs with lyrics penned by a death metal ghost writer.

Sam Cooke is great music for a relaxed party.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Me and my singer (who has some R&B experience) like to cruise around listening to 'The Ultimate Soul Collection'. It's pretty great.

Does anybody here have a Ross Rifle?

Not a big fan of R&B, but I think the new term is Neo-Soul. I do enjoy Erykah Badu though. Nice and jazzy. That is, if she's considered R&B. If not, oh well.
