Also...if this game is going to be historically accurate are they going to portray black people in slavery?

I imagine that would not sit too well...

It's accurate in that there's a lot of attention put into stuff like culture and architecture. Then they'll find vaguely-recorded events and use them as a base for historical fiction.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Historical accuracy notwithstanding, I find it a bit hard to believe they wouldn't at least touch on the matter, given there were roughly half a million blacks in the Colonies during that time. There's also Dunsmore's Ethiopian regiment, Crispus Attucks, etc. To not touch on it, I think, would be a bit more offensive, to be honest. There were a fair amount of black soldiers on both sides; historically, it was more the ones fighting FOR the colonies that got shafted because their masters were like, "What? We said you could be free after you fought to help us out? Gosh, I don't remember that...". It'd be pretty powerful, I'd think, to have maybe a freed slave or the like assist Connor during a part of the storyline.

When people disclude African Americans, it's racist. When people include African Americans, they're not shown in either a real enough or a too real light and it's racist. As someone who is part African American, I don't give a shit either way. I want a good game. Black, white, who gives a fuck.

If they're not included, it's to avoid more opinionated duress that they'd receive from the majority of close-minded assholes.

I'm not saying it's racist, I'm just saying that if you're going into such painstaking detail to get things like period dress, weaponry and the like down, then you leave out something big like that, it just seems off-kilter; it'd be like having a game set during the British Raj and not showing a single Sikh.

I didn't say you were, I was giving you the reason behind it. How many black people were there in the first Assassin's Creed, which takes place in Africa? How many people were black in Eden during the cutscenes of The Truth? Why, when they haven't added black people up to this point, do people seem to have a problem with races not existing in the canon and potentially fucking up the game somehow?

I think Sagat should be in this game. Like maybe the British bring him in as a secret weapon.

We get it, you don't like the series. That's cool.

Given the era, Dhalsim would be more appropriate. East India Trading Company and all.

Ah, good catch! Or maybe Ivy Valentine. She's been known to dress like George Washington.

Wasn't there some controversy about the first Assassin's Creed game because you played as a Middle Eastern character who was primarily taking out white Europeans? If they can make a game that would piss off Middle Eastern people I think they would have no problem portraying slavery in AC3 without worrying about pissing off African Americans.

Typical video game controversy. You actually killed quite a few Europeans and Middle Easterners.

The problem I see with depicting colonial slaves is that you are either patronizing, i.e. making all of the slaves into steadfast heroes, or portraying them as dim laborers. It's difficult to find the in-between, and even if you get it perfectly, people on both sides will piss and moan about it. I'm gonna go play Call of Duty. KILL ALL THE RUSSIANS CUZ THERE DUMB.

Well. this is strange. Ubisoft is getting sued 5 games into their series by someone claiming to have written the story first.
