Yar yar, Valve knows how to market stuff.
If anybody has it on PC, I need a co-op partner! My friends probably aren't getting it, and if they do, it'd be for 360. Lame.

I'll have this on Steam and be down for coop eventually. Gotta wait for a sale first though; $50 is WAY too much for me.

I wouldn't mind this on Steam either, but even if I did have the money for it, our laptop sucks too much to handle it. -sigh-

amazon.com dropped off my copy today.
i played the first couple of start up stages. love it. the humor/writing is still as great as ever. i cant play online yet, cuz the PSN is down, probably from a hacker. so i cant even download my free copy to Steam either.
and 1up.com gave the game an A+ in its review http://www.1up.com/reviews/portal-2-review

Just finished the game, and I absolutely love it. I could go on and on about the new gameplay tweaks, the great story/narrative, and, well, everything, but I just can't process it all right now. Anyone who doesn't play this is missing out on one of the best achievements in video games, period.

It had already been made clear that Portal 2 would be getting substantial downloadable content at some point. Following the controversy over the day one microtransactions that were available (comprised of optional visual flair for use in co-op), many were expecting Valve to charge for future DLC. As it turns out, the first batch will be completely free and it's sounding pretty good.
DLC #1 will include new test chambers and accompanying leaderboards, as well as a "challenge mode" for both single- and multiplayer. Valve didn't get any more specific than that. Unlikely as it might be, I'm holding out hope for the DLC to feature more of Stephen Merchant or J.K. Simmons, though additional GLaDOS voice work would be plenty fine, too.
The add-on's release is "targeted" for summer on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Surprisingly enough, it'll be free on all three not platforms -- not just PC.
The press release refers to Portal 2 as the company's fastest-selling release since Half-Life 2. That's great news for the future of the series and fans who are crossing their fingers for a Portal 3. |

One thing that I can't get over is the "facial" animations. Valve pioneered this with HL2, but Portal 2 completely sucks me in with Wheatley and Glados' animations mixing in perfectly with their well-spoken voice acting. Considering they're robots takes away the uncanny valley feeling quite a lot, which sucks me in, making it feel like they're talking to me when I'm properly immersed.
The thing I loved most about the game's story [SPOILER:56208445f2] were the times when you carried Glados around with you, hearing her react to Cave Johnson's recordings as she slowly realizes who she is. These parts were well-paced and beautifully done, as you hear Glados go from surprised, to aware, to proud (during the lemonade part, which had me rolling) of her involvement with Aperture. Just excellent. [/SPOILER:56208445f2]
Also, JK Simmons is the fucking man.

Anyone have any idea on the length (both single player and multiplayer) for this? I remember the first Portal being kind of short, and I was wondering if this ride will last a little longer.

The single player is already longer then the original at the point I'm at, which was just past the gel challenges. The puzzles are much more intricate then the original so that alone adds some additional time thinking out all the processes. I haven't been able to try Co-op yet.

PS3 version is the better deal, if only because of the free PC version that comes with it (If PSN ever get's back up)

I would disagree on that point.
Its gonna depend on where your multiplayer friends are.
