It actually should be something like "DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE A JOKE".

Someone brought this up to me, and one thing i wish they did in halo 3 was add bots... basically npcs you can play with... True X-box live and friends do for the most part elminate that need of bots, for many people.. but there are times when you don't have interenet access or can't have friends over at the time, or just don't have friends over, and it'd be fun to play....

I also think they should borrow some ideas from Time Splitters 3 like the whole you get 5 lives thing, now try not to do die... Granted a game like that would probably be better on a smaller level than what they normally have but the feature would be nice.

LOL, I have not played a single Halo game so i can't really throw an objective opinion out there. But I'll try anyway:

1)Halo is overrated.
2)Master Chief is not THAT cool (he is cool but not Giga-cool like people have been saying)
3)No one gives a shit about the solo game play or storyline, it's the online around the world server people play halo for.
4) There is only one other FPS that beats Half-Life and that is Goldeneye (or Perfect Dark).

My opinions might be different if i played the game so . . . i'll give it a shot when i get a chance.

Why would you play halo without an internet connection or friends? If you lack either of those, you need to spend your time working on getting them. If they are just temporarily unavailable, you should be playing a game that doesnt suck alone.

Yeah. Halo has awesome multiplayer. That's it. And don't start on that "the storyline..." bullshit.

The storyline is actually supposed to be good...when you read the books.

Planescape and Baldur's gate managed to condense a great deal of DnD lore into a tiny package without the need to read the disgusting amount of lore that surrounds their respective settings. Particularly Baldur' Gate, which takes place in Forgotten Realms, a setting filled to the brim with unnecessary detail.

Wait, I kinda recall that. RPG's tend to have a greater opportunity for dialogue and thus a more effective means of delivering backstory. I've not played many FPS, but I'm not sure how you fit setting information and character development in a genre that rewards a constant state of combat and a protagonist with a minimum of personality for ease of projection(is that the right word?).

okay...so since I'm an ex halo junkie I can add my two cents.

I loved halo. That was the first game that I ever had parties to play with friends on weekends. Nothin beat four xbox's k? k. Honestly that was fun. Have you ever sniped someone in the head to watch them throw a hissy fit? Funny shit. Not funny via the tube of you. Anyways. That was halo 1. I still play it. It had a decent story but was hands down...just fucking fun.

Halo 2 rolls around. I got the collector edition. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? I was like the only person who thought this game was utter shit? It was like...halo with dual wield. Not to mention, the semi-okay storyline went to garbage. Who the fuck liked playing as the arbiter? I was the only person who ended up doing that on live for the month and a half I had it. I played halo 2 on live for 6 weeks. I ended up a 28. I cancelled live. That's the only reason I got it. It wasn't the same. Playing with people you can't see wasn't fun for me like it should have been. I hated halo 2.

Halo 3 rolls around. I got my 360 for gears and sold it as soon as I found out gears was coming out on pc with five more chapters huzzah!

I had predicted halo 3 would finish the trilogy with some cliche bullshit ending to what was an okay story. It did just that. Halo 1 - Good. Halo 2 - Meh. Halo 3 - Shit. I played it with a buddy. We beat it on legendary in about a day. It was alright. The graphics are better obviously than on the original xbox. Multiplayer is where the fun is but I'm leaving myself to wonder.

How useless will halo be when it gets old for everyone? You can't sell the game based on the story. It's definitely a live driven game. My best guess is halo will die out in a few years and the first one will still be the best one.

My opinion. Very Happy

Edit : Did I mention? Halo sucks because you just kill shit. You don't do anything else. Boring? Yes. Kill shit, use cg to advance story. FUCKING AWESOME!

In what has to be some of the haziest logic ever to come out of the spin machine that is Hollywood, studio executives are blaming Halo 3 for the poor box office numbers of Ben Stiller's The Heartbreak Kid. They further go on to note that, if everyone who logged into XBox Live to play the game over the weekend had bought a ticket for the film, there would have been another $27 million in sales, and that's without people bringing dates!

We're not sure which logic fails more totally here, the idea that all of the people playing Halo 3 were doing that specifically instead of going to see a poorly-reviewed Ben Stiller movie, or the idea that even a small percentage of them would be able to find dates to bring to said movie.

Either way, this is ludicrous.

Perhaps they just want to practice at the game... i don't know. If Timesplitter can pull it off and make it enjoyabe then halo can to.

Oh and btw halo imo does one up Half-life, and whatever other game tha t one guy mentioned... though half-life is really fun. I think they each have their own strenghts to be fair, i think i'd prefer halo, over half-life (i'm talking original half-life, the one before counterstrike), but not by too much.

They probably lost some money, but it's retarded to assume all halo players would of went, some would have for sure. But it's not like that's x-box's fault, it was poor planning on their part.

Killing bots is not quite the same as killing people. Its better to practice against losers on the live.

And halo could pull of an enjoyable, well written, single player. But they don't. Maybe they focus their attention on the multi, which is the most important, or maybe they just suck.

True but i did specify for use when you don't have access to friends or x-box live, and you just want to play halo at that time, like some people do with time splinters, for whatever reason.

But whatever the reason can't you just agree it wouldn't be a horrible feature to have, and i don't think it'd be a huge addition to the game.

I don't think bots would be bad. I don't have a live account, but I do play Halo multiplayer with 4 friends. Putting bots on some of the bigger maps to fill out the roster would be nice.

I'm a serious Halo fan. I've beaten all three games on Legendary and even, sigh, read the novels. I bought a 360 just to play Halo 3. Was it worth it? Yes. Yes it was.

Now don't get me wrong: the story for 3 was mediocre at best. Many of the campaign levels were derivative of the older games. (Oh boy, another end-game driving sequence!) Yet it was still good fun, even if it was obvious they spent the majority of development time on multiplayer.

I think one of the coolest features about Halo 3 is the theater option. The game records every multiplayer and single player match you make. In multiplayer you can stop, rewind, and fast forward your video, as well as leave your body and watch the action anywhere on the map from a third person perspective. One could spend hours using that feature alone.

As for not having friends to play with, you can often get by if you just have Xbox live. If you play enough team and social based matches, you'll eventually run into cool people and get them on your friends list. Why, the other night, I befriended a bunch of really cool limeys from across the pond!

Hell, If you wanna befriend me my account is REAGAN0MlCS. The "i" is a lower case "L" and the "o" is a zero. Tell me if you know me from Sydlexia.
