There is no way Microsoft would price a system that high. They would more likely aim it closer to the PS3. So, if I had to guess, I would say it would retail for $599. Which is still pushing it.

And, why the hell are the X360 Hard Drives such a ripoff?

It's just a 2.5" sata hard drive. The same used in laptop computers. Right now you can buy a 120gb 2.5" sata Hard Drive for $65.99. You can't tell me that the plastic shell they encase it in costs $100!?!

I watched the gametrailers review. It looked pretty cool. I must say though, after watching the side-by-side comparison with prime 2, it doesn't look THAT much better.

Still, seems cool.

No multiplayer? Fail.

There is no fucking excuse for a nextgen FPS to lack a multiplayer mode, even if it's completely fucking half-assed.

Nintendo pisses me off sometimes. It's like their corporate leaders live in a fucking box or something.

"Games on CDs? That's fucking gay, man! We're sticking with cartridges forever and the N64 is gonna pwn everyone!"

"A multiplayer mode in Prime 3? That's fucking gay, man! Why should we add a multiplayer mode to Prime 3 when Prime Hunters sold so well as a stand-alone game?"

Metroid has always held its own being a single-player adventure, but I agree that this needs some multiplayer.

Yeah, seriously. I'm getting sick of Nintendo's whole hippie bullshit "We don't want to be #1, we just want to make fun games" angle. Fuck that.

They need to stop playing themselves off as a non-factor in the nextgen war and start kicking some ass. And it's like, get with the times. One of the reasons that Halo is successful is because Bungie fanboys get have their little queerbait LAN parties. Nintendo HAS to know this. And the fact that Nintendo hasn't utilized to the Wii's online capabilities to provide any significant multiplayer experience is a slap in the face to Wii owners everywhere. MP3 should fucking have online multiplayer, goddamit.

Seriously, they should've had games with online capability from the very beginning. Red Steel may have sucked, but multiplayer was pretty fun. Bring that online, and the game would've been more successful. Brawl better have online multiplayer, or I'm going down to NoA headquarters with a shotgun, marching straight into Reggie Fils-Aime's headquarters, and shooting him in the face.

Doesn't it have offline MP? I don't remember. Prime 2 wasn't too terribly fun online but Hunters was pretty cool. At least the single player should be ass kicking. I'm hoping the other game I wanna play, Halo 3, has better single player then the others, but maybe I'm crazy.

I have to get Hunters, but every time I'm at EB Games it's either "I don't have enough cash for anything" or "I don't have enough cash to get both Hunters and what I came here for." I'll get it eventually, once I have a job.

Well, the IGN review says "Number of Players: 1" not "Number of Players: 1-4", and there's no mention of multiplayer, so it's safe to say there is none at all, offline or otherwise.

So far from what I played it is a lot like Red Steel only prettier. The game itself lacks the Metroid feel, its even more like a FPS now, you have missions like Medal of Honor and you collect "S" icons to buy stuff from the extra's section like Art, Music, etc. It's still fun and the controls are pretty easy to get the hang of. Correct there is Zero multiplayer in this game. I still miss me some 2d Metroid exploration.

You lucky Wii owners...I really wanna play this. I did reserve Halo 3 at Target today though...I get a shiny card and action figures, oh joy.

OT, is Target usually fine with this stuff? Like I don't imagine a ton of people being there or getting sold out right?

Without spoiling stuff, there's not much I can say, other than it's good times. Really good times. It's also the end of the Prime series. Where does Metroid go now?

About that... no. The movie critics loved The Departed when it came out, but that doesn't make it one of the ten best movies of all-time, and anyone who would claim otherwise is simply lazy.

If someone was going to compile a list of the 100 best games ever, a serious list that took into account historical impact as well as popularity, you would not see Bioshock or Prime 3 on it. You would see a heavy focus on games from the 70s and 80s, with a fair amount of 90s titles. Few, if any games, from 2000-2005 would make the list, and no games from 2006-2007 would make the list because it's too early to making that sort of judgment about any of those games.

But let's say it was a major publication doing this list, like an EGM. And let's say Microsoft and 2K Games threw a shitload of money at EGM and made them put Bioshock on the list. You still wouldn't see it anywhere near the top ten. The top ten would be reserved for games like Pong, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., and Space Invaders, games which paved the way for the multimillion dollar graphically impressive sci-fi FPS rehashes that keep getting critical praise dumped on them for no apparent reason.

Actually the best games of all time were mainly made in the 90's. Now before you start flaming, allow me to explain my sources.

there was a old wikipedia article(which was deleted because they claim it was based on "opinion" rather than fact) which had compiled a list based on the results of various studies. I wish I had a screenshot or text reference but I don't. All I can remember are these:

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina(sp?) of Time
4.Half-life(1 or 2. I can't remember)
7 or 8. Halo 1

I really wish they had not deleted the article.

Most of the lists they showed had links to websites which the polls were taken and had the results listed.

Personally, I think the list might be a load of crap. Now that you metion it, there were NO classic games on that list. Not even Super Mario Bros. Now if that or other classic games didn't make a top ten list for the greatest games of all time, then something is seriously wrong.

I really don't think that there ever will be a definitive list to name the greatest games.

1UP did a Top 100 List. It wasn't quite "greatest", it was something like "most influential" or some shit like that. It was an interesting read, and it contained some very oddball picks, such as the Gameboy version of Faceball, which made the list for supporting 16 player multiplayer via cables.

And IGN did a Top 100 Greatest List, but it sucked.

Back to MP3...I beat this today and I must say that Nintendo has gone 2 for 2, (Zelda being the other) for games with horrible endings. This ending was even worse. Pretty soon Nintendo is probably just going to say "You won thanks for playing! Here's the credits. Remember to buy our next game!" Jesus Fuck Assbag. [/rant]

I actually will not be dissatisfied w/an ending like that. If the game is challenging enough, the reward is beating it. At least, thats how it used to be back in the day.
