Goddammit, they are starting to make being a Nintendo fanboy extremely hard.

This looks good, if it's like Mario Kart Wii it's a bit of a turn off. The AI sucked and i didn't like using bikes. Apart from that it looks cool.

Mario Kart Wii wasn't that bad.
Yea there was some lame rubberbanding and you would see too many blue shells, but I played online all the time and would get first place probably 80-90% of the time at least. Skill definitely still played a part, they just took out horrible things like snaking and such.
I feel as though people cried about MK: Wii too much in general. Sure, it isn't the strongest Mario Kart title of all time but it is still good fun.
Also, Fernin, I love the random characters in MK: Wii, I used Funky Kong and Rosalina a good deal actually.
I hope this gets some harsh reviews. It'll sell well regardless, but Nintendo will pay attention to mainstream criticism, because God knows they don't pay attention to fan criticism.
As for Mario Kart Wii, it did suck. "Classic" tracks with blatant redesigns, a constant barrage of blue shells if you were in first, and a constant barrage of lightning if you were in any other place, and worst of all the last vestiges of offroading were gone. Toad went from being arguably the best racer in Mario Kart 64 to unplayable in Mario Kart Wii.
Here's how offroading devolved between the games:
Mario Kart 64: Anyone can do it with a boost, light characters can get away with cutting short distances without one because their speed loss wasn't too bad.
Mario Kart DS: Light characters get away with it as long as they can boost their way through at least half of the distance.
Mario Kart Wii: Stay on the fucking track, asshole. At least with the karts. I have no idea if the bikes can do it, because I bought fucking MARIO KART, not Mario's Magic Tricycle Adventure.
Even shitty Kart Racing rip offs allow you to turn certain items off, why can't fucking Mario Kart let me turn off the blue shell in multi-player? BLARGH!

Just picked this up moments ago but haven't even tried it yet. Who else here scooped this up already?
So my question is if they fixed the blatantly broken snaking issues from Mario Kart DS, because that's a dealbreaker.
i believe the drifting is auto-turbo like they did in MK Wii. i am not 100% sure on this though

There is no snaking.
The mini-turbos aren't neccesarily auto, but don't require the back and forth oversteering and understeering. They are goverened by speed and how hard of an angle you are turning, so if you take turns well you can burn off mini-turbos pretty quickly, but you can't snake.
EDIT: I also created a rad Sydlexia, Mario Kart 7 Community.
When you get a copy of the game, go to online, click communities and search for this code. 58-5146-3466-0542
Blue shells are still here and still awful, but I feel that they aren't /quite/ as prevalent as they are in MK: Wii, which is good. Still, I really wish there was some kind of rare item that could negate them occasionally...
Anyways, anyone else pick this up yet? Trying to get a big group of us together playing at once.
