Your probably thinking of sometime last year or earlier this year when some guy who appeared once in one episode ended up murdering some one and all the TV stations kept talking about a "former child star from Power Rangers murders"!

I have a much better idea, why not just re-release the old toys. I'm still fucking bitter about not getting the "Deluxe Edition" (WTF) Megazord as a kid. My mom got the regular one not knowing the difference, and I can't say I blame her. All it did was fire it's fists. Remember that from the show? |
Sounds pretty similar to what happened to me as a kid. I wanted the Megazord as a kid, and my Mom said she found one at a yard sale so I was all excited. When I got them it was actually the Voltron tigers that combined together, she didn't know the difference. I just pretended they were Power Rangers, but it wasn't the same. |
But it's fucking Voltron!

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy them! It's like dating a girl with large breasts, and after finally seeing them you realize she was just wearing a push up bra the whole time. Sure, it's great and still fun, but just not quite what you were expecting.
