I'll also say that's the best thing I've seen South park do in 8 years.

I'll be honest, that was a kind of meh episode.
I thought it made a great point and all, and really it's about fucking time they took a poke at Rush. But it wasn't that funny.
"I just called the President a bitch" just might make it into a sig, though.
I think Matt and Trey found this site, which is also going in my blog. Between the facts that last episode was just one of my blog entries (but funnier) and this episodes referenced the Smurfocaust, along with the fact that an episode takes 3 days to make, it's very possible that they've been influenced by this site in the last couple weeks. I could easily see them having found this site because of my blog entry about South Park having jumped the shark (Which is clearly not the case, and glad they are no longer following the exact same timeline as the Simpsons), and then gone on to read some other stuff.
Hard to say and it's probably wishful thinking, but you never know.
I missed the episode...they take shots at Rush huh?
Can't say he doesn't deserve it...

They were taking shots at Glenn Beck. The logo was the same, the chalkboard thing was the same, his hair in the interview with Wendy was the same. Glenn and Rush are both kind of loony, but Rush doesn't do dumb bullshit that makes his party look as awful as Beck does.
Sometimes Rush is actually listenable, but Glenn Beck just shouts and cries and writes shit on a chalkboard like he knows what the fuck he's talking about when he knows he doesn't.

for that. I love that song.
I totally loved the *message* of today's show, but for some reason, it just didn't make me laugh nearly as much as some of the others. It took itself quite seriously, which I actually understand given the subject matter, but it just...wasn't as funny imo. I would say its the implausibility of the situation, but I dunno. Still a strong 4/5 though. Anything that takes Beck, Limbaugh and company down a peg is a-okay with me.

Just watched the episode online, all I have to say is...that opening "shocker" was really uncalled for.
I mean I wasn't offended, it just felt like it wasn't needed to progress the story, and almost added to make up for the lack of "laughs" in this episode.

Want some Oxycontin?
And I've never seen this Glenn Beck guy, but all those right wing media blowhards are the same. Personally, I think seeing Cartman as Ann Coulter would have made my day.
And yeah, that opening was funny. Particularly the non-reactions of the kids.
Butters reaction was so funny. I kept rewinding and watching it over and over.

I think the main excuse was just to give Cartman a reason to take over the announcements.
And it was a hair uncalled for, but it was damn funny. Although, I kept expecting it to be revealed as a hoax to try and make the kids actually pay attention to the announcements. I was kind of surprised when the kid actually died lol.

I'll say it, what the opening part was trying to do was perfected by Family Guy.

Don't worry. He was Ginger. He didn't have a soul.
I thought it was good, I especially liked Cartman's progression into his role.
The opening sequence was funny, no problems with it.

When is Cartman going to learn that Wendy will always win? If he wants to succeed he needs to take her out silently, not go after her head to head. She is just too damn smart for him.

Also I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I have to go back to my argument about Butters again. He is always the go to person for gulliblitiy, so much so that it's a joke within itself. It seems like the show is nothing more than the Cartman and Butters Show: featuring Stan, Kyle, etc in minor roles. Butters is Urkel.

Really not a valid comparison, since Butters doesn't nearly dominate the show to that extent. He's clearly a main character now, but he only seems to fill one of two roles, depending on the episode:
1) The innocent corrupted by the world around him.
2) A contrast to Cartman.
And hey, it works and it's usually funny, unlike how Randy has sort of muscled his way into the main cast.
Oh, yeah, it's been "The Cartman Show" for at least 10 seasons now. No question.

I kind of like the way Wendy has been set up as sort of an "anti-Cartman". Sure, she's boring, nd her new voice is still kind of off-sounding to me. But ever since this...
...I've kind of grown to like her. (I wish I could have found the actual clip, but hey.
I don't recall a single Randy episode as of this part of the season, but the only episode I can think of where Butters didn't play a large role was the "Whale Whores" episode. And yes, Butters isn't quite Urkel yet, but he's getting there. Again, I know it's an "unpopular opinion" but I'd like for them to just lay off him for a while.

I fucking love that. Why don't I remember it from an episode though? Was it part of a special or something?
