For me part of the fun IS discussing the shows in, the shows that didn't get in, how bad some of the brackets are (I know it was random), etc.

I don't know if you saw, but I did have to pare down a pretty large list. I could have filled a 128 show bracket if I thought this board had any patience for that kind of shit. I had to cut a few of my personal favorites myself, no show without at least 3 nominations made the final 64, and I'm still hearing about how Beavis and Butthead got hit with a random cut.

I'm over being all pissy and stuff over comments about how "X show should have been in", but seriously? If three people couldn't bother to remember to nominate it, what chance did it really have?

So, the Best Cartoon Ever is Looney Tunes. Yet another award that fucking Bugs picks up that I'll never get.

I want to thank Captain Pollution and Fernin for helping me run this thing. It's appreciated.

The big overall winner is probably the WB. Warner Brothers did very well here. Three in the top 8, including the winner. Fox also did very well, having Simpsons and Futurama do very well, not to mention the WB shows were all shows on Fox Saturday Morning. Nickelodeon's Nicktoons did very well too, at least the older ones.

The big loser is Hanna Barbera. The only shows that even came close to doing well were modern-day variations of old shows (Space Ghost and Harvey Birdman)...shows that are a large part a mockery of how poor they were. Disney's poor performance was also a surprise to me...only 2 shows made it out of Round 1, and those went down in Round 2. And Disney is considered THE animation pioneer.

Yeah, but if this were an animated MOVIE contest instead of animated TV, I think we can safely say that Disney would have ruled the day with very, very little effort. I've always thought of them as pioneers in the art of animation via movies, not particularly as big on animated TV shows.
