This is the most recent thread about Street Fighter X Tekken I could find, but I had to share this.

This is Capcom's revenge for all of the venom they got from Mega Man fans over the last year. Those ingrates deserve every second of this.

The PS3/Vita version gets FIVE exclusive characters:

Infamous Guy
Two kitty cats who are apparently Sony's mascots. I didn't know Sony had mascots?
Mega Man
Pac Man

Like, what the fuck? Why would I, as a 360 owner, buy a version with so much less content? I wouldn't. So I won't. I'll buy this game for $20 next September. And I'll buy it used to make sure Capcom doesn't get A SINGLE FUCKING CENT of my money. Fucking assholes.

I'm already not buying it because they dropped the ball when it came to adding characters that weren't in SSF4. If the rumor list is true, then the only other nonSSF4 character is Elena. Even though I'm the only Elena player online, it's not enough. That's 4 characters out of supposedly 24. That's weak, lazy, and boring. At least make a third of the SF cast not from 4.

Well, it's hard to use SF characters that aren't from SSF4, because SSF4 has every single SF2 character.

And honestly, I care very little about characters that weren't in SF2 who aren't named Dan or Sakura.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but I'm just kind of confused...I'm not sure "Fans of a series wanted a sequel to a really awesome game and were upset when it was cancelled? WELL LOOK AT THIS, HAHA FUCK YOUUUUU" is the right attitude to have about this.

The Mega Man fanbase is approaching Sonic fanbase levels of stupidity. One year of no releases in a 25-year legacy and a game getting cancelled due to a lack of direction and they all think it's the end of the franchise and suddenly Capcom is the enemy? Yes, the fans were fair getting upset over a cancellation, but there was absolutely no need to start a petition to revive Mega Man Legends 3 or Mega Man Universe when it was clear that Capcom had lost their way with Mega Man games in general. They want to get back to basics, but the fans won't allow them to. As far as I'm concerned, Capcom is in the right in trying to dismantle the community and start over from scratch.

Why do all the trailers make the namco characters out to be a bunch of Mary Sue assholes? No one cares about your boring characters namco, making them beat up street fighter characters won't get people to buy your game

Not a huge Guy fan. I do like Escaped Convict Cody though. Ibuki was a lot of fun in Gem Fighter. I'm terrible with her in other games.

1. They Cancelled Universe. "Meh, no big deal."
2. No Megaman in Marvel VS Capcom 3. "Shocking, but he'll be in Ultimate Marvel 3, right?"
3. Megaman Legends 3 cancelled. No Demo release like we were promised, No attempt to start it back up again, Not allowing third party companies to finish it. "What the Hell is Capcom's Deal?"
4. No Megaman in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. 2 alternate costumes feature Megaman X. "What the Fuck, Capcom?"
5. As if to rub salt in the wounds, Megaman is added to Street Fighter X Tekken, but not just any Megaman, but Bad Box Art Megaman. "Fuck Capcom."

I feel us Megaman fans are definitely getting the shaft.

Back on topic, though. I'm with Syd on this. Apparently Capcom was in talks with Microsoft for an exclusive, like Marcus Fenix or Master Chief, but conversations broke down (Same as with Mortal Kombat 9). Still, I think those would be horrible characters.

Those are some pretty good points. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's in store for Mega Man in the future.

As for including Master Chief or Marcus Fenix in the game, I'd imagine that would be a friendly nod for the console characters, but ultimately a lukewarm addition to the fighting genre. I love me some Gears of War, but Marcus Fenix doesn't have enough personality to really stand out on his own.

A console exclusive doesn't HAVE to be a Microsoft property. Look at SC2's exclusives:

Nintendo: Link
Sony: Heihachi
Microsoft: Spawn

Only one of those was a console-specific IP.

They should have made Alisa and Q the XBox exclusives.

Maybe capcom is purposely driving up demand for mega man so that they can release some sort of big expensive mega man product for his 25th anniversary.
