Sadly I used to watch it when Noggin and the N were the same network (Before the N spun off and eventually became teen nick)
GOD that show is so melodramtic.
....But it was still awesome in it's own "this shit is stupid way"
Must suck to be a Teen in Canada with all that shit happening.
Reason I bring it up is becasue I started watching Shane Dawson's videos and just saw his Epic Degrassi spoof.

Degrassi is some hardcore stuff. I think the most recent season one kid went to jail or rehab or something for cocaine.
And the teens just eat it up, too.

I remember for a while all my friends watched the show and they'd always talk about what was going on. Luckily I didn't have cable so I never followed suit.

My mom used to watch the show constantly because she watched the original series however many years ago. Apparently some of the original cast members appear as their old characters, but now they're the parents or something.

Why bother with a degrassi forum if all you do is bash it. It may be a lame melodramatic teen show, but it really does teach true life lessons (don't meet up with strangers on the internet, don't lie to your parents, don't cheat in school, don't go sexting because you don't know where those pictures could be sent...). I really enjoy Degrassi for the dramatics and find that most of the characters aren't super annoying like in most teen shows that are on nowadays.

hey now dorn. my wife watched degrassi all the time when she was younger and still watches the occasional episode and enjoys it (personally, I view it about the same as any other teen oriented show eg. im almost 30 so who cares). if youre going to talk like that to my wife, maybe its better we didnt get that far in the forum battle. i respect her right to like shit i think is stupid when i dont have to watch it, and if you cant extend that courtesy, well, team moar is going to become a solo operation now.

I remember watching that in Junior High... I wake up in the morning feeling kinda horny, jee i gotta go to school.
Good show... that was the altered intro my classmates made up. The real intro was very close taht.. i wake up in the morning somethign something gee i got to go to school.
You know what's sad.. i've probably been on this site lately more than Syd has... that's ridiculous!

One of m y teachers makes us watch the old Degrassi. It's not that bad. Saw some episodes about a 14 year old who got pregnant and another teenager whos boyfriend beats her.

My sister was into this show whenever the Drake dude was on it. Strange that he gets his start in America by playing a handicapped kid on a Canadian TV show. Degrassi continues to push the limits, they are gettin' whack like the old school Melrose Place. Blah!
