Twentieth Century Fox has added three more superheroes to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," with Ryan Reynolds set to play Deadpool, "Friday Night Lights" regular Taylor Kitsch to star as Gambit and hip-hop artist will.i.am joining the cast as John Wraith.

Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston and Lynn Collins round out the cast as Victor Creed/Sabretooth, Col. William Stryker and Kayla Silver Fox, respectively.

Hugh Jackman reprises the role of Wolverine in the "X-Men" spinoff that Gavin Hood is lensing in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans. Pic bows May 1, 2009.

David Benioff penned the script, which would reveal the origins of the Wolverine character and introduce other mutants not yet seen in the "X-Men" franchise.

Marvel has been eyeing the possibility of casting Reynolds as Deadpool, an assassin with self-healing powers, for some time with the idea of spinning off the character into his own film series should the character prove popular among moviegoers.

Fox and Marvel have also long wanted to add the card-throwing character of Gambit to the "X-Men" franchise but could never find a way to give him enough screen time among the many other mutants that have appeared in each film.

Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am will play Wraith, a mutant who has the power to teleport, and is another test subject of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine and other mercenaries. It would be his first film role.

Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter are producing with Jackman and his Seed Prods. producing partner John Palermo. Marvel's Kevin Feige exec produces.

I think "Heroes" has taught us that if you don't have it, you'll die when the ratings are down.

I friggin' hate the "cure everything" drug. At least "Smallville" had it a year before. Difference? They never abused it. And got rid of it right quick.

In Heroes Volume 3, a Robocop 2-like creature is showing up who runs on it, thus ending the supply.

Deadpool and Gambit? yay!
will.i.am? No and get that man a damn spellcheck/grammarcheck. Besides, Wraith was the character's real last name, his code name was Kestrel.

His character in Waiting... would be fine enough.

This isn't really worth its own thread, so I'm bumping this one. Leaked trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, straight from Comic-Con:

Part 1:

Part 2:

it may prove not terrible. I have not hated Ryan Reynolds as others have, I think he is decent at a very similar character in most movies he does, and deadpool needs a bit of a cocky smart ass to play him, I hope this pans out

I think the attitude his character had in Blade 3, would be perfect for Deadpool.

As long as Deadpool has decent acting and knows he's in a movie, I'm good with him. But Gambit needs to be a badass.

As I understand it, and I hear about this stuff all fuckign day, Ryan Reynolds specifically requested the part of Deadpool as a big fan of the character. There is the problem that the character always wears a mask, but I get the impression from what I've heard that Reynolds would probably be fine with it, though his agent may not.

As for the whole healing factor thing, Deadpool kinda needs it. At least in the stuff I've read, he's not a terribly efficient mercenary, just has a big mouth.

YouTube pulled the video, so I replaced it with another one.

And hopefully the movie will be as success. Maybe Deadpool will get his own movie then. Though I doubt it.
