I happen to work in shipping and I can say that we don't ship our products until they are paid for first. Once the customer pays for their stuff, that's when they get put on our shelves and of course that's when we become obligated to bubble-wrap them, box them, weigh them and put the shipping labels on them before the delivery people come and get them.

That said, what this Paul guy did was absolutely unbelievable and I think what happened to him was completely justifiable. Just because other cases like this don't make it to the public eye and remain largely ignored doesn't make what happens to some unfortunate customers any less wrong. Whenever a rotten bastard gets his ass handed to him for being a douche, that's supposed to be a good thing no matter how you look at it.

2. The company was charging full price for the controllers BEFORE they shipped, which is completely fucking illegal.

No. That's standard practice for special orders. It's how the company makes sure they're not wasting their time on something you order, then when they call you 2 weeks later, you say "I changed my mind." It's only illegal if they have no intention of getting the item.

I was going to say the same thing, forgot somehow. I've gone through a similar thing with custom made car parts. If a guy is doing a small run of something that's very specialized, there's no way he's going to produce them and put his money on the line without there being some guarantee that people are going to buy them. Just how it is. Sometimes it's a deposit, sometimes the full amount. Either way, I still don't see how it's illegal.

I don't see how PA can be at the blame of any of this. Paul was a douche-nozzle and Dave clearly didn't want the company to be banned from PAX because the controller was helpful to disabled gamers or whatever the controller is used for. When a PR guy whom you contact returns emails basically belittling you isn't the first thing you would do is broadcast it?

If I filed a claim for a car accident and the company told me to put my big boy pants on or "threaten" me you better fucking believe I would CC Insurance institutes, News Sites and other people I thought that could help bring light to this. It's not like Dave sent the email and said "Give'em hell", he forwarded it to someone of the Gaming industry with connections. He can't be blamed from what anonymous assholes do with that information afterwards.

If I'm getting fucked and it's not by someone I wanna get fucked by, you will know along with everyone else that it happened. Seeing assholes burn is what makes life grand.
