Well, it's over. The team of Syd and Knyte, Cecil's Slime Knights, stand atop the field at the 2010 Forum Champions. The final results can be seen here.
To tell the truth, while the last one went okay, I think this one was absolutely spectacular. There was record participation, most everyone brought out their A game, there was some awesome stuff made, and in the end it was pretty much what I wanted to see, a bunch of geeks bringing out their creative best. The way the "Forum vs IRC" rivalry played out with everyone sort of taking sides also made for some great drama too. Well done, everyone.
It wasn't without it's problems, though. While most of them were easily weathered, I know the one on everyone's mind is the vote totals. Clearly, someone was screwing with us and running up the totals, probably by using an exploit in the software, and while it doesn't seem to have affected any outcomes, it's certainly WTF-worthy some of the total vote swings we had, and it may very well have been a factor in the opening round. I'll say right now: It wasn't Syd's doing, and it wasn't Jeebus's doing. I'm 100% satisfied of that. And while I know you all believe this is a silly contest that shouldn't be taken seriously, I also got the general sense that the integrity of the thing should be maintained. It's something we'll worry about next time. For now, I think it's a shame someone couldn't find a more productive way to screw with us.
I'd like to thank the following people for their help with this endeavor:
-Klimbatize, for being my "second" and the guy I bounced ideas off. He did a great job with starting the matches I couldn't because of work or whatnot, and I don't think I could have done finished this without him.
-Fernin, for again making up and hosting the calender and bracket.
-Syd Lexia, for hosting it on his forums. And starting that one match. But not for winning.
- Sehkmaenzo, for some very entertain comics I do hope continue.
And of course, thanks to everyone who participated, created, voted (but not those of you who voted 10 times in one match. Fuck you fuckheads), and pretty much made this thing awesome.
We'll see if we do another one next year (Triple Threat matches?), but for now...
This Forum Battle is closed!

Yeah, this was good times all around. I was kind of having a nervous breakdown during my second match, which was a bit of a shame, but meh. Overall, great stuff. This was a super fun time. Congratulations to Syd and Knyte, and yeah, way to go, everyone.

Way to go everyone. The last match, especially, was a fantastic fight, and nobody got banned, which is commendable. I'm proud of all of you.

thank goodness it's over, I had a lot of fun just watching, and then throwing myself into it, but because of that time gap it's nice to see it end as well. I really apreciate everyone who contributed stuff during it, in whatever fasion It was all grand, from watching people destroy their bodies to some real funny and/or creative works. Congrats to Syd and Kynte!

I think single elimination was a bad idea, and it could make a longer, more exciting FB for next year.
Or is it just me being bitter that we got placed against Syd? I think it's a little of both.

No, I definitely like single elimination. It makes the matches more exciting and, contrary to your point, shortens the whole thing. Honestly, with this much activity, it's practically the only way to go. Otherwise it would take forever. It already takes a really long time, especially if it's going to continue as an annual thing.

Great job all around folks, I agree with Usa, for the most part it was a bunch of geeks at their creative peak and that in itself is glorious.
I enjoyed campaigning (albeit it was very brief) and watching others campaign.
Although, I am hoping things work out much better for me next year.

The only thing I don't like is all the votes that happen pre-content posted. I want to vote for people to encourage the kind of material I like seeing. I'd like to see what else they come up with next round, and they're providing the best enjoyment.
Maybe have events last 3 days but Disable voting for the first 12 hours the event is up. Maybe the first 8 I don't know.
Imagine like Sehk + Burt Reynolds.. that team would suck to face.

I hope not as well. People got a bit carried away on the last battle, but it was all in good fun. It's a big event, it's not a surprise we get the occasional beer bottle thrown against the wall

Nice job misunderstanding the post and putting an exclamation mark where there was none, proving that you are an idiot.

I have considered your blatant misunderstanding of me and your pitiful attempts to piss me off.
I have come to this conclusion: I don't give two tugs of a dead dog's cock about you and your childish understanding of "humor."

Again, I didn't misunderstand you dearie, i intentionally said what i said... Secondly, I've never heard that phrase, sounds painful. AND I definitely don't think we're ready to be dealing with children of any kind.
I never knew you were polish, is that a polish phrase?

One more thing: call me dearie one more time and I will plant a garden in your ass using a rusty shovel.
There. I'm done ruining the congratulations thread.
