God damn those Russian commie bastards. I was so, SO rooting for Canada to take this, and they deserved it to. Where was the PP that had been kicking ass all tourney?? Fine fucking time for them to break down...arg.

Still, I was highly impressed with our goalie (my Oilers' Dwayne Roloson.) He did a damn good job for anyone, let alone for someone his age. Overall a very good performance by the team.

I still can't believe we lost to fucking Russia though. Evil

Eh, we had a weak team. Of course Russia was pretty even with us but their goalie played better but I have not seen a team that weak from Canada in recent times. A number of our better players that were eligible must have declined. Congrats to Russia I guess, they were the better team. It will matter more when the Olympics come around.

True. I'm hoping Canada is able to bring home the gold at home; that would be an awesome, awesome moment. I just hope to god the US gets eliminated first, so I can root for them with a clear conscience. Embarrassed

The world championships is good way to get the younglings international experience and that's about it, although it would have been nice if they pulled it out. Its all about the Olympics and I've been trying to fill out the roster for next year, but it's so difficult because there are too many good players. This is what I got....

Gagne-Crosby-Ignila
Carter-Lecavalier-St Louis
Heatley-Getzlaf-Nash(This line absolutely dominated last year at the IIHF)
Doane-M Richards-Morrow/Staal/Thornton/Marleau/Toews/ (Too many good centers)

Pronger-Green
Phaneuf-Weber
Burns-Campbell
Regheir-Neidermayer

Luongo
Brodeur
Price

On D I like

Phaneuf-Weber(great at world juniors)
Green-Keith
Regehr-Pronger(shut down tandem)
Niedermeyer-Boyle

That's off the top of my head, I can probably think of better guys.

I say move some of the centerman to the wing to make room for some of the more elite guys.

I do like the Regehr-Pronger combo, but I firmly do not believe Pronger should be a third liner. He's arguably the best Dman in the NHL right now, and needs to be first line. MAYBE second, but even that's stretching it imho.

As much as I dislike Crosby for being a whiny little bitch, I'm glad he's on our side. The rest of the team actually looks to be shaping up pretty well. Being able to root for a team with Luongo in goal is fucking awesome; I love that guy, when he's not making my life miserable.

Is Gretz coaching again this year? I heard rumors of it being either him or Yzerman, and I'm sure its decided by now but I haven't been able to find anything (in the three second google search worktime allows lol.)
