Well, I'm into rap and hip hop in general, but it depends on what rapper/band you're talking about.

I never listened to much underground shit anyway, except random mixtapes when I was a kid.

What do you consider underground? I've been exploring MF DOOM, Madlib, J Dilla, and those guys. I recently listened to Digital Underground's new album. I also listen to Busdriver, Kool Keith (and his other aliases), shit, I listen to a lot, throw out a name, I might have listened to it.

You are not alone.

I like J-5 and Danger Mouse a good amount. The Danger Doom shit that comes from MF Doom and Danger Mouse teaming up is awesome. Doctor Octagon is also pretty underground and just out there in general.

Not a huge rap fan, but for underground i like: Aesop Rock, Necro, Cannibal OX, Deltron (del), Mc Paul Barman and the Grouch. Suprisingly, I'm into the east coast stuff a bit more even though I'm from the West Coast.

Dances with Wolves 2 is gonna ROCK!

I'm a big fan of some mainstream and underground hip hop. Some shit I jam out to (but not limited to): Heiruspecs, Atmosphere, Outkast, Del, and Confidence(local to my hometown, but one of the best artists I've ever heard. If you wanna check him out his website is www.confidencemusic.com).

I used to listen to a lot of Sage Francis, just Personal Journals and his freestyle stuff with the Orphanage guys.

Since when is Brotha Lynch underground? I like him too, though.

Oh yeah, and X-Raided.

I'd say Lynch is underground because I've never heard him on the radio or seen a video on TV. He is well known and popular, but I've never caught him on MTV. Confused

How about Dead Prez? My co-worker got me into them, they're pretty good.

I've had my Dead Prez period. I'm over it. They're a bit too angry for me at times. Public Enemy is angry too, but Flav lightens up the mood a bit.

I totally dig K-os, and I really like Kyprios, NWA, and Public Enemy.

In terms of semi-quasi-pseudo-rap, I'm a big fan of Citizen Cope.

Everyone reading this read needs to check out Aesop Rock. He's potentially the best lyricist to ever walk the earth. Most definitely my favorite artist that is still alive. Got to see him live and it was fantastic, hes totally humble and takes time after the show to interact with fans and sign autographs. If you like big word checki him out. Alot of the time I have to look up the lyrics and read them a few times to understand what hes rhyming about,

some of my favorites are- commencement at the obedience academy, big bang, the greatest pac-man victory in history*, the substance, garbage, none shall pass, nine-to-fiver's theme

*about LSD- peep the wordplay alternating L, S, and D words-
Lazy summer days
Like some decrepid landshark dumbluck squad dog lurks sicker, deluded
Last sturdy domino leans secluded
Don't let stupid delusions lesson super-duty labor students
Dragnet lifer solutions
Daddy loves sloppy dimensions like son-daughter links
Such determinated leopards, successfully disshelved
Little soliders developed like serpents despite life sentence ducking
lemmings
Some don't like sobriety's dirty lenses
Some do let sleeping dogs lie still
Don't look so damn lackluster
xxxx defeat
Love some damage, load sample delete
Late Show, Dave Letterman, shitty diner lip-slide dutch
Low self-discipline leader seek that lung self-destruct
Life sucks dickhead
Lost summer's display laminate showcasing divinity
Live system definitive
Liturgy soaked the pig lowly, spectactular delight
why, what kind of LSD you like?
